CATERING MANAGER IN TRAINING

           QUALIFICATIONS

 

  •    Sets up all catering events. 
  •   Estimates food consumption and orders food for events.
  •    Selects and develops recipes.
  •   Supervises personnel involved in preparing, cooking and presentation of product.
  •    Studies work schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  •    Cooks and otherwise prepares foods according to recipes.
  •    Responsible for quality and consistency of product taste and presentation.
  •    Portions cooked foods and gives instructions as to size of portions and methods of garnishing.
  •    Insures all deadlines are met in food production based on production orders.
  •    Plan catering menus.
  •    Provides quotes for catering events.
  •    Ensure that all events are billed and invoiced correctly.
  •    Keep accurate records for event/order changes.
  •    Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work related problems.
  •    Event food preparation and delivery, including set up and tear down
  •    Working knowledge of catering operation procedures
  •    Solid business judgment and strong verbal and written communication skills
  •    Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers. 
  •    Service oriented, assertive, and persuasive
  •   Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures – follows HACCP standards.
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area

 

Position does include early morning, evening and occasional weekend work hours, depending on event schedule. 

 

Education and Experience:

Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Serv Safe Certification.
