Wolcott School Director of Admissions

 

Wolcott School in Chicago, Illinois, is a new independent, college preparatory high school designed for students with learning differences such as Specific Learning Disabilities and ADHD. We are seeking a talented, creative admissions professional to join our founding team. The Director of Admission is responsible for all phases of the admission process, including, but not limited to: recruiting and retaining students; implementing admission's marketing efforts, guiding school tours; planning and hosting open houses; maintaining accurate and thorough records; and assisting families with integration into Wolcott School. www.wolcottschool.org

 

Key Responsibilities :

         Collaborate with the Head of School to develop recruitment strategies

         Develop and implement creative outreach strategies using networking and digital media

         Foster relationships with potential sender schools

         Manage the applicant admission process from point of inquiry through enrollment

         Assist in the planning, development and implementation of recruiting events

         Field inquiry calls from prospective families

         Meet with prospective families and interview for potential admission

         Present applications to the Admissions Committee

         Arrange and conduct school visits for potential students

         Arrange for and following up after an applicant's school visit

         Understand and support financial aid decisions

         Follow up with admissions decisions and welcome new families

         Process applications for individuals seeking admission and maintain accurate and proper documentation of application materials

         Collect data and report on admissions events, inquiries, applications and decisions to present to the Head of School

Skills and Qualities:

         Talent for working with adolescents, teaching experience a plus

         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

         Ability to use the internet and social media to reach families and network

         Engaging, skilled public speaker

         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

         Outstanding interpersonal abilities and collaborative skills

         Excellent organizational skills

         Skilled in admissions and other relevant software

         Self-starter , Attentive to detail

         Creative thinker, Energetic, Flexible

         Cultural proficiency

Requirements:

         Bachelor's degree in education or a related field required

         Understanding of specific learning disabilities. Teaching experience a plus

         Minimum of three years relevant experience preferred
