                                             Days and Times Vary

                                             Spanish Bilingual Skills Required

                                             Tier 4 = $14.96 per hour

                                            

                                            

 

Position Start Date:   September, 2012

 

Banded/Graded:   A-1-4

 

Responsible To Building Principal/Classroom Teacher

 

Position Purpose:   To provide assistance to English Language Learners in the classroom understand content by providing language scaffolds.

Benefits of Employment as of July 1, 2010:   Eligible for benefits as negotiated between Student Support Staff (MSEA Association) and District 112.  This position is eligible for overtime and comp time.

Translation

 

-         Speak with student in primary language and/or English

-         Written translation from one language to another

-         Provide Spanish enrichment activities

 

 

-         Fluency in both English and a second language as demonstrated by proficiency assessment

-         Accuracy

-         High developed communication skills, oral and/or written

 

Interpretation

-         Assist with parent contacts including some level of documentation

-         Participation in student planning meetings when necessary

-         Oral interpretation of written materials where required
