JOB SUMMARY:
Working with district-level
instructional and technology staff, this person is
responsible for helping teachers implement instructional
technology initiatives, including on-line learning &
traditional classroom instruction with technology
components. In addition, this person determines
instructional technology training needs, conducts and
coordinates specific school building training sessions.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.* Collaborate and plan
with Disciplinary Literacy Coaches, Staff Development
personnel, Curriculum Specialists and Teachers to design,
develop, conduct and support classroom instruction with
technology components, instructional technology, and on-line
learning opportunities.
2.* Collaborate with the
Academic Team to align strategies and identify educational
goals which are supported by technology.
3.* Provide direct
support to teacher acquiring new technology based
pedagogies.
4.* Assist district
instructional, technology, school administrators, &
teachers in the evaluation and selection of instructional
technology tools and software.
5.* As necessary,
coordinates with district instructional technology staff and

party service providers to insure minimum technology literacy
training requirements are met for all building staff.
7.* Attend academic
division meetings, district principal's meetings,
school-based staff meetings/training, and any other meetings
as appropriate in order to assess impact of district
initiatives on instructional technology and communicate to
all affected parties the impact of instructional technology
initiatives.
8.* Responsible for the
following professional tasks: provide task progress and
completion data prepared in a professional manner to all
stakeholders, maintain a working knowledge of instructional
technology and technology infrastructure through a continual
education process, interact with co-workers, administration
and the community in positive, supportive and cooperative
ways.
9.* Work within the
parameters of the districts' technology standards, operating
processes, and Board of Education policy and district
technology plan.
10.*

PREPARATION, TRAINING,
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Masters
Degree in educational technology or equivalent
preferred.
2. Effective
oral and written communication skills.
3. Ability to
provide direct classroom based support to teachers acquiring
new technological skills.
4. Able to
model effective technology based pedagogical skills.
5.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team
environment.
6. Ability to
effectively implement instructional technology
deployments.
7. Ability to
manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively
under pressure with stakeholders at all skill levels.
8. Customer
service focus with the ability to relate well with staff and
the school community with good communication and
cooperation.
9. Ability to
research, test, and collect information on new ideas/concepts
and possess a strong conceptual background in technological
issues.
10. Minimum of two years
of experience in delivering Professional Development for
staff in the use of instructional technology.
11. Demonstrated ability
to work with a wide array of individuals in a problem-solving
situation.
12. Demonstrate effective
use of GRPS approved instructional software.
13. Ability to quickly
adapt to new technologies and situations.
14. Minimum of five years
of hands on experience in the instructional use of technology
preferred.
15. Minimum of five years
of successful classroom teaching experience preferred.
16. Ability to meet
certification requirements for teachers in Michigan.
17. Demonstrated
leadership skills.
18. Knowledge in current
educational trends and practices.
19. Extensive knowledge
of current trends in instructional technology.
