QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Library Science or Information Science preferred; supervisory or library certification preferred
  • Five years of directly related experience including two years of supervisory
  • Knowledge of library procedures and operations
  • Ability to tract and chart department performance
  • Problem solving skills to research and resolve problems related to budget management and ordering issues
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of district personnel
  • Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position

BASIC FUNCTIONS

  • Support library director by serving as liaison to librarians and other personnel
  • Assist/train/evaluate campus library programs and plan/interface with Professional Development and other departments, as well as other areas of Library Services and Region 10 Library cooperatively
  • Oversee and maintain the websites, moodle site and assist with systems, etc.
  • Interface with campus librarians by email, telephone and site visits regarding policies and procedures
  • Create and develop P.D. curriculum, planning of programs and hiring of instructors as needed
  • Create and develop lessons instructing use of library automation software and district on-line resources
  • Create step-by-step Tip Sheets on correct use of automation software
  • Oversee and maintain the new librarian mentor program for the district
  • Model library operations as needed with staff and librarians
  • Oversee the writing of curriculum and CPG’s in Library Services
  • Stay abreast of current trends in the field and make changes as needed
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
