Behavior Specialist
.5 FTE Certified Teacher and .5 FTE Paraprofessional
Salary Range: .5 Certified: $18,112 - $23,691
Salary Grade B: .5 Paraprofessional: $9.68/hr
Job Description:
Develop and implement programs to remediate behavioral and
social problems for students. Serve as a consultant to school personnel and
parents of these students. Assist in the
development and implementation of behavior intervention plans for general
education students, as part of a team.
Assign and follow up on appropriate consequences for behavioral
infractions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
2. Valid Montana Educator’s Certificate in elementary education and/or any exceptional
student education area like School Psychologist, or Guidance and Counseling
Preferred
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree from an accredited institution in
Behavior Analysis, Clinical Psychology, Behavior Psychology, Social Work or
related field
2. Graduate work beyond the Master’s degree
3. Experience in a like position
4. Certification as a Behavior Analyst or Assistant Behavior
Analyst,
Certification as a School Psychologist, Licensure as a
Clinical or Behavioral Psychologist, or Licensure as a Clinical Mental Health
Provider
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,
AND ABILITIES:
1. Communicate effectively in written and oral form using
positive interpersonal skills
2. Ability to develop and implement behavior intervention
plans, classroom management systems, and reinforcement systems
3. Experience with functional behavior assessment/functional
behavior analysis
4. Ability to use effective instructional strategies and
techniques for at risk learners
5. Experience in the development and implementation of
affective/social skills lessons
6. Experience in the development and implementation of
progress monitoring systems
7. Experience in data collection and data analysis
8. Experience with group facilitation and problem-solving
strategies
9. Ability to effectively lead/facilitate group processes
10. Ability to assign and follow up on appropriate
consequences fro behavioral infractions
