Nature and
Scope of Job: Provide preschool special education services
to children identified as having special needs in an integrated classroom with
Colorado Preschool Program students and typical peers.
Education,
Licenses, Certification or Formal Training:

Master’s
degree in Early Childhood Special Education
·
Meet
NCLB Highly Qualified requirements for teaching assignment, if necessary.
·
Valid
Colorado teaching license.
Qualifications: Writes goals and objectives.
Administers evaluations on preschoolers. Assists and performs screenings.
Ability to individualize and implement programming. Team player.
Essential
Job Functions:
- Provides individualized
programming to special education 3-5 year olds with a variety of
disabilities in an integrated setting.
- Coordinates team members and case
management of student needs on IEP’s.
- Chairs IEP meetings, coordinates
and initiates the necessary paperwork.
- Works closely with other itinerant
specialists (i.e., SLP, OT, PT, School Psychologist, Nurse)
- Input developmental observations
and progress notes for students into the online GOLD system.
- Participate in preschool and
district level professional development.
- Participate in home visits for
students on caseload.
- Maintains accurate and current
record keeping and documentation on IEP’s.
- Follows State Childcare licensing
rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as
assigned.
