Training Program Coordinator
One Adult Basic Education
(ABE) Computer Skills Training Program Coordinator position is
open through Mankato Area Adult Basic Education. The
grant-funded assignment is 10 hours per week and includes two
components:
1)
Volunteer Tutor Coordination:
Site coordinators will be responsible primarily for volunteer
coordination and management; coordinating student outreach and
recruitment; coordinating tutor-learner relationships; working
with other Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Workforce Center
(WFC) staff at the site; and interacting with staff and
consultants at Minnesota Literacy Council (MLC) working on the
Broadband Technology Opportunity Project (BTOP).
2)
Teaching
: Basic computer literacy teaching responsibilities include
teaching the weekly basic computer skills class; coordinating
student outreach and recruitment; working with other ABE and
WFC staff at the site; evaluate teaching outlines/learner
outcomes.
Qualifications:
A MN teaching license (in
any area k-12) is preferred. The applicant should possess
strong written and verbal communication skills and be
experienced and comfortable with the use of technology in the
classroom and with online learning platforms. A
willingness to learn, collaboration, teamwork, planning and
organizational skills will be essential. Experience with
recruiting, training and managing volunteers is
preferred.
