SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The head teacher will report to the Principal and work under the direction of the Director of Special Education to assist in the selection of new teachers, preparation of department budget, coordinate and oversee purchasing and distribution of supplies and materials, serve as a liaison between department and guidance staff in placement of students in specific courses; provide assistance to parents in course selection; assist in developing teaching schedules for department staff; train, assist and monitor all substitute teachers; and arrange special curricular and co-curricular activities for students.
