Central Office: Administrative Assistant with Technological Skills

Central Office
  Hours:  Full-year position.  Seven-hour work day, Monday-Friday.


Salary and Benefits:  Commensurate with experience (in the $50,000/year range).  Full benefits.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Three years of previous work experience as an executive secretary/administrative assistant
  • Understanding of interactive software applications with the ability to support multiple users
  • Comfortable with both Windows PC/Apple Mac-based platforms a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with a strong aptitude for learning new software, including interactive technology
  • Ability to research office management and educational software applications
  • Ability to communicate and interact with faculty, staff, students, parents and visitors tactfully and courteously at all times
  • Responds appropriately on a daily basis to concerns and requests from the various constituencies that do not require the direct attention of a central-office administrator
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to  compose written memos, letters and other professional documents
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; ability to demonstrate initiative and use sound judgment
  • Ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as necessary
  • Ability to manage and handle stress in a fast-paced environment
Overall Job Duties:
  • Routine secretarial responsibilities (i.e., maintaining the administrators' calendars, scheduling meetings/appointments/ handling phone calls/typing reports and correspondence)
  • Researching and purchasing for the central office curriculum program
  • Assist with the coordination and management of TEAM (Teacher Education and Mentoring Program)
  • Arranging for professional development workshops involving personnel from all three school districts
  • Budget preparation
  • Preparation of regular reports, committee meeting agendas and minutes
  • Filling in at the front desk when needed
  • Maintain a variety of files and records of a confidential and a non-confidential nature
  • Other duties as assigned
