Certification:
Bachelors Degree in Education;
holds an Early Childhood Certificate (Type 03) with a Special Education endorsement
(LBS1), an Elementary Certificate (Type
04) with a Special Education endorsement (LBS1), OR a Special Education Certificate (Type 10)
with an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) approval
Hiring
Criteria:
Knowledge Needed:
1.
Know
objectives for Development and Learning for 3 to 5 year old children, have familiarity of the Early Learning
Standards, DIBELs, and Teaching Strategies Gold
2.
Have
a variety of learning, social/emotional, and behavioral strategies that are
appropriate for the age level and disabilities of the students
3.
Have
knowledge of how to write, implement, and collect data on observable,
measurable goals for an EC student
4.
Have
a standardized way of collecting base-line and periodic data relevant to the
student's individual learning programs
Skills needed (in no
prioritized order):
1. Ability to apply
knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program.
2. Able to plan and
implement lessons based on school objectives and the needs and abilities of students under your
supervision.
3. Plan a program of
instruction for each student that incorporates diagnosis, prescription, and evaluation.
4. Create a classroom
environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interests, and abilities
of students.
5. Maintenance of
accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy,
and administrative
regulation.
6. Ability to establish
and maintain cooperative relations with others in order to work as a member of a team.
