This is a temporary contracted full-time position and will end May 18, 2010. This position provides teacher salary wages and all benefits except for teacher's retirement.
Individual selected must hold a current Alaska teaching certificate. Retired teachers are encouraged to apply.
The teacher is responsible for teaching
two sections of Careers and Employability and one section of Diversified
Job CoOp Education. This person will also be responsible for going out
on job sites and meeting with employers where WV students are placed
through the Div Coop position.
Co-Op is designed to provide formal classroom instruction that supplements work experience with instruction and activities that apply, reinforce, refine, or extend the learning that occurs during work so that students develop attitudes, knowledge, skills, and habits that might not develop from work experience alone. Co-op is designed to substantially contribute to students’ educational and occupational development. Students receive a program of study related to applying for, securing, and keeping a job and receive both elective credit and pay for their work.
