POSITION: Vocal Music Teacher
LOCATION: Adams City High School
- Teach inclusive vocal music
to high school student population.
- Interest in teaching an
ethnic music offering using repertoire of the southwest and Mexico – Mariachi
experience is desirable.
- Strive to achieve the
following instructional goals:
- Students demonstrate musical
- Students develop improvisational
- Students develop appropriate
vocal techniques within a variety of repertoire and choral settings
- Students demonstrate critical
listening by making judgments about the elements of music
- Students examine how art
forms reflect and impact historical and social events within a cross-curricular
- Students investigate the
various requirements of music-related careers and activities in the community
- Students learn how
involvement and promotion support musical events and music-makers
- Participate in school and
district music programs and festivals
- Align lesson planning and
curriculum content to the music content standards as listed above.
- Work cooperatively with
building and district personnel to devise and develop methods for building an
outstanding vocal music program;
- Work towards increased
musical proficiency in performance repertory and strive for excellence in
- Perform at a professional
level in all areas of teaching, instructional management, interpersonal
relationships, professional relationships within the building and within the
district music faculty at large, professional responsibilities, and general
- Demonstrate the highest
commitment to student achievement and student development; be an effective
communicator with staff, students, parents, and the community at large in
support of educational programs.
- Be of the highest integrity
with strong desire to model commitment to students; professional ideals, and
above all, ethical standards in pursuit of educational excellence.

at a cost of $40.00 to the employee.
- Must possess or qualify as a
licensed K-12 music educator, with vocal expertise suitable for teaching at a high
