License and Certification Qualifications: None required.
Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment required. Experience in human resources or benefits administration preferred.
Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; ability to exercise independent judgment, troubleshoot, and solve problems; accuracy with computation and employee data; ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively when advising employees; strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a high-volume processing environment; ability to work as part of a team; flexibility and adaptability to change; ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools in a positive and professional manner; strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office required; knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide assistance in the organization and coordination of all benefits administration processes, through processing benefits information and assisting employees with benefits-related issues.
1. Process forms
and records in assigned employee benefits programs and verify accuracy
a. Verify and accurately complete benefits enrollment
2. Assist with the maintenance of relationships
with employees and carriers in relation to, but not limited to, health
insurance (State Health Benefit Plan), dental insurance, vision insurance,
life insurance(s), group legal insurance, and all other insurance and benefits-related
a. Conduct initiatives to resolve identified
gaps in the benefits administration process.
b. Route enrollment information to plan providers
and plan administrators.
3. Assist with reconciliation of the State Health
Report and other data/reports to ensure correct monthly deductions are
a. Research issues and submit optional payroll
forms for needed corrections.
4. Assist in preparing materials and presenting
benefit plan changes to employees.
5. Resolve employee concerns relative to the
delivery and payment for services by contacting healthcare professionals
and other service providers, benefit plan providers, and employees.

net pay due to multiple deductions.
8. Assist with all functions and activities
