POSITION (S):          Chief of Talent

 

SCOPE OF JOB:      Directly responsible for the strategic and tactical oversight of the talent management and acquisition teams at this academic institution. Oversee and coordinate the following areas: employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training and development, benefits, compensation, and organizational development.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

                                   Bachelor's Degree (MBA preferred), Human Resources equivalent, from an accredited college or university

      A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of personnel administration, employee development and training, public employment service, job counseling and placement, vocational education and training, and/or in the development and supervision of Human Resources' programs

      Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated capacity to coaching and supervising a diverse group of instructional and/or non-instructional professionals

      Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective public presentations

      Expertise in analysis and development of Human Resources' policies, processes, technology, and systems

      Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications, which may include time-management and attendance systems

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop, oversee, and approve recruitment strategies for the organization including strategic marketing and executive search firm management; updates to organization-wide Human Resources' policies and procedures

      Maintain current knowledge and understanding of innovative recruitment technologies, organizational change, agility, social networking, ethics and values, innovation, customer focus, employee engagement, diversity and inclusiveness, and multiculturalism.

      Oversee management of the Human Resources' information system and track and analyze human resource related records and files

      Maintains staff and results by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling (pension, benefits, etc.), and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; participating in the hiring process of key positions through posting for and screening applications for proper credentials

      Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, laws, industry trends, practices, and developments regarding Human Resources that may affect the organization and advise management and employees accordingly

      Ensure all Human Resources' policies and procedures are up to date, legally compliant, and documented as appropriate

      Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned

TERMS:                    12-Month Position (Position not aligned with any collective bargaining unit within the Jersey City Public School System)

 

SALARY/STIPEND: $135 - $150k + Compensation

 

LOCATION:               Central Office
