Associate degree in Computer Information Systems / Information Technology or equivalent experience as may be acceptable by the Board

MCDST, A+ or ACHDS Certifications preferred.



  • Responsible for analyzing, specifying, installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all computer hardware, software, and peripherals to insure optimal workstation, application, and peripheral performance.
  • Perform on-site and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including repairs as necessary. 
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user computers and related hardware and software in order to deliver desired support service levels. 
  • Collaborate with the Network Infrastructure Team as necessary to insure efficient operation of the district’s computing environment. 
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls and web forms regarding district computing problems. 
  • Administer the district hardware and software asset tracking systems. 
  • Prepare tests and applications for monitoring desktop performance, including performance statistics and reports. 
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, computer systems, peripherals, and software. 
  • Develop and distribute help sheets, usage guides, and FAQ lists for other technicians and end users. 
  • Liaise with third-party support and computer equipment vendors as necessary to resolve issues. 
  • Conduct research on desktop products in support of computer procurement and development efforts.  Evaluate and recommend products for purchase. 
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware needs.
  • Consult with users and vendors to produce functional and technical specifications for the purchase of computers, software, and peripherals.
  • Analyze and test computer systems and programs to assess compliance with functional and technical specifications.
