Title: Teacher, Hospital Homebound
Under limited supervision, provides high-quality, standards-based instruction in a homebound setting for students who qualify for services due to a medical/psychiatric condition or other qualifying event.
Essential Functions:

• Provides appropriate grade level course content of the mandated curriculum in a variety of settings and locations throughout the district.
• Provides a learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students.
• Implements instructional activities provided by the student’s teacher(s) of record, including any modifications/accommodations identified in each student’s IEP or 504 plan.
• Provides clear, compelling and engaging instructional assistance to students.
• Maintains effective record-keeping procedures, including prompt completion and submission of all HHB documents.
• Implements positive behavior management strategies to support a positive learning environment.
• Provides timely feedback concerning student progress to the classroom teacher(s).
• Uses appropriate instructional materials, resources and technologies to maximize learning for students.
• Serves as a liaison between the school and the home for the delivery of instructional services to students who qualify for homebound services.
• Participates in IEP or 504 meetings as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in relevant educational field required.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a classroom teacher with experience teaching students with disabilities (504 or IEP).
• Minimum of 1 year serving as a Hospital Homebound Teacher, preferred.
