Homebound Tutor

TITLE:  Homebound Tutor (One Student)
Approximately 5-10 hours/week
SY 2025-26 - $27/hr.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Valid and appropriate Illinois licensure.
2. LBS 1 endorsement preferred
3. Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical. 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Special Education

JOB GOAL: Under limited supervision, provides high-quality, standards-based instruction in a homebound setting for a student qualifying for services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Addresses specific educational needs of an individual student by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
2. Using the Individualized Education Program (IEP) as a guide, selects appropriate instructional materials and media to achieve the goals and objectives specified for the student.
3. Strives to maximize the educational achievement of the student.
4. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media which are appropriate to the achievement of the goals and objectives specified in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). 
5. Assesses on an ongoing basis student progress toward the acquisition of goals and objectives listed in the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). 
6. Maintains accurate and complete records as required by district policy and administrative regulations.
7. Utilizes current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
8. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal/assistant principal and district office administrators as designated by the superintendent.
9. Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters and loyalty to the school district.
