Substitute Teachers
Location: All District Schools
Position Purpose
Deliver instruction during a teacher or teacher assistant's absence and provide supervision as needed during daily lessons, routines, and activities.
Rate of Pay
$134.03/day for the first 20 days
$149.50/day on day 21 and thereafter
$281.32/day for long-term assignments (10 or more days in the same certified assignment; responsibilities include planning for instruction and assessing learning)
Qualifications Profile
Current Illinois substitute (SUB) or short-term substitute (STS) license*
OR
Current Illinois teaching (PEL) license
*SUB licenses require a Bachelor's degree or higher. STS licenses require an Associate's degree or 60 credit hours of college coursework, plus completion of a one-time, two-hour training course provided by the District.
