Job Title: Teacher Music-Band - Seasonal
Department/Group: Teacher
Position Summary/Purpose: Provide for a safe, effective learning environment which promotes the educational and social growth of all students within the classroom.
Position Type: Full-Time-Seasonal Starting Rate: Based on Education and Experience according to Salary.
Role and Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Provide general music instruction for students in Kindergarten through Grade 3.
- Follow existing curriculum, lesson plans, pacing, and instructional expectations.
- Provide individual and/or small-group band lessons during the school day as scheduled.
- Teach age-appropriate musical concepts, including rhythm, melody, movement, singing, instruments, and music appreciation.
- Support beginning instrumental students in developing foundational skills, proper technique, and musicianship.
- Maintain established classroom routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, bilingual staff, administrators, and other school personnel as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate attendance and instructional records as required.
- Communicate with school administration regarding student progress, instructional needs, or concerns.
- Provide a safe, welcoming, respectful, and engaging learning environment for all students.

- Be exact or highly accurate
- As a multi-language district, we always prefer staff who are bilingual but it is not required for this position
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Music Endorsement
- ESL preferred but not required
Working conditions / Environment:
Physical Demands: mobility within the instructional area and throughout the school facility, visual acuity close/distance/depth perception, hearing to receive information, verbal to exchange information. Physical demands often include walking, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping reaching forward, lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing and pulling
Environmental Conditions: indoor climate-controlled school environment and may include being outdoors for extended periods of time throughout the year
Examples of Equipment/Supplies Used to Perform Tasks: technology such as computer and SmartBoard, office supplies
