Director of Operations
Description
Under the supervision of Saint John the Baptist Elementary’s principal, the Director of Guardian Angel Daycare is responsible for the operation and instructional leadership of the center. The Director trains and supervises staff, sets instructional objectives, oversees daily activities, prepares budgets and works to build rapport with all constituents. The Director is responsible for all aspects of the program.
Essential Functions: ? Administer record keeping, including personnel and student files. ? Create and nurture a positive and supportive work environment. ? Maintain a high level standard for teachers, administration, employees, students and families. ? Corresponds professionally with parents, staff and students. ? Create marketing materials and give tours in cooperation with the Office Administrator and the Curriculum Administrator. ? Communicate policies to parents and personnel. ? Conduct individual observations/conferences with all personnel at least twice annually. ? Establish performance goals and objectives for personnel. ? Hold weekly management meetings and monthly personnel meetings. ? Oversee and supervise curriculum/programs in accordance with policies of the Catholic Schools Office/Diocese of Salt Lake City/Saint John the Baptist Elementary in cooperation with the Curriculum Administrator. ? Ensure the safety and well-being of the students at all times and be alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group. ? Follow and adhere to the Skaggs Catholic Center’s Operating Guidelines and Contracted Employee Benefits. ? Hire and terminate personnel with Supervisor approval. ? Keep the Supervisor informed in advance of program needs. ? Keep the Supervisor informed of concerns, problems or special needs of the center, personnel and students. ? Maintain communication and rapport with parents through a weekly newsletter, social media and website. ? Manage day-to-day and annual activities. ? Meet with Supervisor, parents and community organizations as requested. ? Participate in recommended training programs, conferences, courses and other aspects of professional growth. ? Provide training and professional development opportunities for all personnel. ? Report to Supervisor and Child Family Services any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect. ? Visit classrooms and observe teaching methods. ? Work actively with teachers to maintain high curriculum standards. ? Work with the Office Administrator and Curriculum Administrator in staggering schedules to ensure that there is always a Director at the center between 7:00am-5:30pm. Assist in all classrooms as needed if teachers are out on vacation or sick. ? Work with the Skaggs Catholic Center’s Nurse to ensure the health and safety of all personnel and students. ? Work with the Skaggs Catholic Center’s Director of Finance to prepare and maintain an annual budget. ? Work with the Skaggs Catholic Center’s Director of Facilities to ensure that the center is maintained and cleaned accordingly. Attend scheduled meetings. ? Work with the Skaggs Catholic Center’s Director of Food Services to create monthly menus and order food. ? Manage all aspects of billing and finances. ? Work with the Office Administrator to plan appreciation, team building and school events. ? Other duties as assigned.
