We seek a Spanish Teacher to join our dedicated and caring teaching team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Proficient in Spanish and or rated as Superior or Advanced Mid in Spanish. Understands central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structure of second language acquisition. Experience or familiarity with ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Engages every student in grade level appropriate learning experiences that promote performance. Listens and interacts effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community members, respecting diverse perspectives. Demonstrates respect for students, colleagues, administrators, and parents. Works effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support students’ learning and well-being. Develops and implements a strategic planning system including course, unit and lesson plans.
Work in a collegial and collaborative manner with peers, school personnel, and the community to support and promote student learning and program evaluation. Uses appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college or university is required. Possession of, or eligibility for, a Florida teaching certificate for the level and subject area to be taught.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively in a diverse environment. Demonstrated organizational and managerial abilities. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to use sound judgment to solve problems and make decisions independently.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary amounts are set annually by the Executive Director. Consistent with the requirements of Florida statute, this school uses a performance based salary schedule for all new employees whereby pay increases are based on teacher evaluation results from the previous year.
