Description

The town of Johnson is located in far southwest Kansas. USD 452 is a KSHSAA 2A district with 285 students in the Pre-K thru 6th; & 185 students 7th-12th. Certified Staff: The teacher contract consists of 180 days, with 167 being dedicated to student contact and 13 days of professional development annually. 2018-2019 base salary is $38,650; with 5 years’ experience $40,550; Masters with -0- years’ experience $40,650. Benefits include paid time off days. District reimburses college hours and allows the user to advance on the pay scale. The district provides a one-time stipend of $1,000 for ESL endorsed, certified staff. The district provides single health insurance coverage. Stanton County participates in the Rural Opportunity Zones student loan repayment program. Once residence has been established, qualifying applicants receive $3,000 per year for five years for a total benefit of $15,000 to pay for student loan expenses. All buildings are air-conditioned, and the High School has an indoor pool. Student/teacher ratio is approximately 18/1. Every 7th through 12th-grade student has a Chromebook, as well as Chromebooks in the Elementary classrooms. Each teacher has been provided a personal IPad as well as a classroom computer. Possible sponsorship's and supplemental contracts are available but are not required. There are computer labs/internet access in each building.
