Anderson School District 1 is located just hours from the Carolina coast nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It can be found in the northeast corner of Anderson County along the corridor of I-85 just minutes from Clemson University and the state’s third largest city, Greenville, home of Furman University. Thirteen schools comprise the district, which encompasses the communities of Pelzer, Piedmont, Powdersville, West Pelzer, and Williamston. The district currently serves 8,055 students. One of the unique features of Anderson School District One is that it offers a country living atmosphere with all the city conveniences. The climate consists of four distinct seasons, mild winters and warm summers with a mean temperature of 65ºF.
