Fairfield County School District 01

We are located in the midlands of South Carolina with its rolling hills and fertile valleys, endowed with picturesque scenery and a landscape with many pines, ponds and pastures in a serene country atmosphere. Fairfield County has over 100 historical buildings, churches, homes, monuments and memories that speak of the unique traditions and culture of the area and the Upcountry. In that regard, our county is bordered by the Broad River on the west and the Wateree River (now Lake Wateree) on the east, both of which were hunting grounds for several Indian tribes. The Fairfield County School District is small enough to allow staff to know our students as individuals. We are proud of our students, staff and the progress we are making with respect to student achievement. Four of our eight schools eligible to receive the prestigious Palmetto Gold and Silver awards for academic achievement are recipients of the awards for academic achievement during the past year. We are as committed this year as we were last year to charting a course for exemplary student achievement in Fairfield County School District.

The mission of Fairfield School District, in partnership with the total community, is to ensure that each student has the skills to be responsible and successful in a constantly changing, global society by providing on-going opportunities in an atmosphere of excellence.
