180 day working calendar
Hours Per Day: 7.0
Shift: Shift subject to change. Typically Transition Academy schedule includes full 7-hour work days, Monday-Thursday, and 3 hour work days on Fridays. 
Location: Transition Academy

Hourly Rate: $28.07 Position is eligible for membership in the Teamsters Local Union No. 763 which is part of the Lake Washington School District Trades Bargaining Council No. 763 (TBC).

Job Summary:
Assists teachers and students in the Transition Academy (students 18-22) with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Supports students’ special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills. Attends and supervises daily community outings with students, on-the-job coaching for students in volunteer positions, and coaches students on using public transportation. Staff will also assist with preparation and retrieval of instructional materials, use and storage of equipment and supplies. May supervise and assist students with toileting needs, feeding needs, and getting on and off a bus.

Education and Experience Requirements: 
• Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
